Tehran short film festival unveils lineup

Over two dozen international films have been selected to compete in the 34th Tehran International Short Film Festival, organizers say.

Twenty-nine movies by filmmakers from 21 countries will vie for top prizes in the official competition section of the festival, which will be held in the Iranian capital city of Tehran, organizers announced on Sunday.

Among films to compete are ‘Advertisement’ by Timur Ismailov from the Netherlands, ‘Limbo’ by Konstantina Kotzamani from Greece, ‘Adaptation’ by Bartosz Kruhlik and ‘Demon’ by Piotr Domalewski, both from Poland.

The lineup also includes ‘Andrew’ by Tornike Gogrichiani from Georgia, ‘All That Remains’ by Anne-Lise Morin from Belgium, ‘Bus Story’ by Jorge Yudice from Spain and ‘Clothes’ by Veselin Boidev from Bulgaria.

Organizers of the Tehran event last week announced the lineup for the experimental section of the event. Twelve movies by foreign filmmakers have been selected for the category.

Twelve short documentaries from international filmmakers will also be screened at the festival. Among the documentary films are ‘Last Letters’ by Nils Clauss from South Korea and ‘Donbass Underground’ by Valery Melnikov from Russia.

The 34th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival is scheduled to run from October 17-22.
